Life Events
Thank you for your inquiry about the Life Events and Posttraumatic
Stress Modules of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment (CAPA).
DESCRIPTION: the Life
Events and Posttraumatic Stress Modules were developed
by E.J. Costello, Ph.D., A. Angold, MRCPsych, and colleagues
to collect information about events occurring in the life
and environment of the subject that could pose a risk for
resulting psychopathology. When painful recall, avoidance,
or hyperarousal are associated with an event, the presence
of symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress is explored. The modules
are published as part of The Child
and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment (CAPA) by Angold,
Cox, Prendergast, Rutter, and Simonoff.
